Chris Kase

Chris Kase is a jazz trumpet player and composer who has resided in Madrid since 1997. He has performed and/or recorded with jazz artists such as: The Mingus Big Band, Adam Nussbaum, Kenny Wheeler, Bob Mintzer, The Bird of Paradise Orchestra, Steve Coleman, Chick Corea, Steve Wilson and Don Braden, among others. Kase was one of fifteen trumpet players from all over the world who were chosen to participate in the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Trumpet Competition, celebrated in Washington, DC in
1997.
Since 1994, more than twenty-five of his compositions have been recorded and released. Kase's talent as a composer has been recognized by the American Society for Composers, Authors and Publishers (Popular Awards Panel Grants annually since 1991), The Michigan Council for the Arts (Composition Grant, 1991), and by the Sociedad General de Autores y Editores (2nd Prize in Jazz Composition, First Biennial Tete Montoliu International Jazz Competition, 2001).
Jesús Santandreu

· Represented Spain in the Radio European Union Concert in 1987.
· First prize with the band Saxomania in the Ibiza Jazz Festival in 1992.
· He won the 2nd prize in the SGAE Jazz Composition Awards with his Estudio nº 2 in 1996 and mention for his Estudio nº 1 in 1995.
· Sadao Watanabe Award given by Berklee College of Music in 1998. In 1999 attended the meeting organized by the International Association of Jazz Educators (IAJE) in New Orleans.
· He was an active member in the Berklee Concert Jazz Orchestra directed by Greg Hopkins.
· His most remarkable teachers were Jerry Bergonzi, George Garzone, Frank Tiberi, Hal Crook, Dave Santoro and Bill Pierce.
· Magna Cum Laude Degree in Berklee College of Music (Boston-MA.) in Performance.
