FIRST STAGE
The trio was founded in Boston in 1996 with Galician Paco Charlin on double bass and Bulgarian Val Tzenkov on drums.
In 2000, the band got established in Galiza and recorded its first album, Babel de Sons (2001), with Paco Charlin on double bass and Ramón Ángel Rey on drums.
In 2002, the group released Simetrías and performed at many jazz festivals in the Iberian Peninsula, in Cuba and in Morocco. At this time, the GHU! Project album was also released. This band put the trio in contact with leading soloists such as Chris Kase, Jesús Santandreu and Michel González.
This concept was maintained with the participation, later on of performers such as Miguel Zenón, Perico Sambeat, Alan Ferber and Toni Belenguer.
SECOND STAGE
In 2006, Playing on Light was published, with Paco Charlín on double bass and Bruno Pedroso on drums. The magazine Cuadernos de Jazz chose it as the Best Jazz Record in Spain 2006.
At the end of 2006, Nelson Cascais was the new bass player of the group.
At this stage, the trio composed and performed the original music for the screening of the Galician silent film “Pioneiros do Cinema”, at the Teatro Principal of Santiago (2007).
The band also participated in Rosalía 21 (commission for the Havana Book Fair) and Aloumiños de Seda (commission for the General Bureau of Linguistic Policy in Galiza).
TODAY
Since 2008, Pablo Martín Caminero is the double bass player and Bruno Pedroso the drummer of the Trio. They released Zigurat (2010), which won the Independent Music Award in 2011 to the best Jazz album of the year, and A Modo (2012), with which they toured in Central America.
The album Versons was released in 2013 (their first album of just cover versions), which recieved the Martin Códax Award for best jazz album of the year. Tránsitos (2015) is an original work by Abe Rábade for his trio with Symphony Orchestra. The records Once (2016), Doravante (2018) -presented at the Monterey Jazz Festival (USA)- and SORTE (2021) are their latest productions.
A.R.T. has performed in Santiago de Chile, Dhaka, Berlin, Lisbon, Mexico City, Havana, Ciudad de Guatemala, San Salvador, San José de Costa Rica, Belo Horizonte, Monterey and Tangier, amongst many other places.

A pianist and composer born in Santiago de Compostela in 1977.
He graduated with a first-class cum laude degree in Jazz Composition and Piano Performance from Berklee College of Music (Boston, USA) in 1999.
He has performed in Europe, America, Asia and Africa.
He has made 13 jazz albums as a band leader.
He has premiered more than 200 compositions in Jazz, Classical and Root Music styles.
He is a tireless promotor of dialogue between musical genres and artistic disciplines.
Abe Rábade is artistic co-director of the Permanent Jazz Seminar Pontevedra, Spain). He is a faculty member at the Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espectáculo (ESMAE) in Porto (Portugal), and at the Centro Superior de Música de Galicia (CSM Galicia) of Valga (Spain).
PABLO MARTÍN CAMINERO
A double bass player, composer and producer born in Vitoria (Spain) in 1974.
He completed his classic double bass studies in the Superior Music School of Vienna in 1999.
He has collaborated with artists and projects in different genres such as Ultra High Flamenco, Abe Rábade Trio, Jorge Pardo, Gerardo Núñez, bandArt, Hippocampus, Chano Domínguez, Niño Josele, Rocío Molina, Enrike Solinís and Rosario La Tremendita.
He has composed music for films and advertising campaigns since 2006.
Pablo has released 4 albums: Doméstica (BOST, 2005), El Caminero (BOST, 2011), O.F.N.I. (BOST, 2014) and Salto al vacío (BOST, 2016).
He has taken Double Bach to the stage with the choreographer Antonio Ruz, a show in which he plays two J.S. Bach suites in pizzicato, accompanied by the dancer Tamako Akiyama.
BRUNO PEDROSO
After receiving lessons from renowned musicians in the Portuguese scene, he studied in New York with Leon Parker, Carl Allen, Jordi Rossy, Adam Nussbaum and Billy Hart.
In 1995 he became part of the teaching staff of the Hot Clube de Portugal Jazz School.
Endowed with outstanding versatility and musicality, Bruno is one of the most sought-after Portuguese jazz musicians.
He played and recorded with Zé Eduardo, Nuno Ferreira, Fátima Serro, Kiko, Nelson Cascais, Carlos Barretto, Tomás Pimentel, Carlos Martins and the Moreira brothers and regularly accompanies artists such as Nicholas Payton, Gregory Tardy, Rick Margitza, Aaron Goldberg, Perico Sambeat , Ivan Paduart, Ricky Ford, Richard Galliano, Ron Jackson, among others.
Since 2016 he has been part of Joao Barradas Trío (accordion) and plays with Salvador Sobral, winner of the Eurovision Song Contest in May 2017.
